Prayer Devotionals

Prayer Devotionals inside this community were born from a simple truth: so many Black and Brown women are praying hard, serving hard, and still feeling empty, unseen, or worn down. I created these faith-centered devotionals as a soft, safe place where your spiritual life and your emotional life can sit at the same table.

Each devotional reading is short enough to fit into real life, but deep enough to meet you where it hurts. You'll find scriptures, reflections, and prayers written specifically with our stories in mind - navigating exhaustion, generational patterns, perfectionism, grief, and the pressure to keep showing up when you feel like shutting down. The language is honest and gentle, inviting you to come to God exactly as you are, not as you think you should be.

You can use these devotionals in your morning quiet time, during a lunch break in your car, or late at night when your mind won't turn off. Many women like to pair them with journaling, using a few lines from the reading as a springboard to pour out their heart on paper. Over time, this rhythm of reading, reflecting, and praying can help you feel more grounded, more held, and less alone.

As a licensed counselor and a woman of faith, I wrote these as an answer to the gap I kept seeing - women being told to "just pray about it," without tools to understand or tend to their emotional wounds. Here, prayer and emotional awareness walk together. These devotionals are part of the larger Finding Her...Hey Girl, Let's Talk! online space, where storytelling, sisterhood, and soul work come together to support your healing journey day by day.
